Drive to Prince Rupert & Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary

From Jasper we drove to Prince Rupert, a distance of about 1,100 kilometres. The main reason for visiting Prince Rupert was to see the Khutzeymateen Grizzly bear sanctuary. Prince Rupert is in the north of British Columbia, not very far from the border to Alaska. The drive was long, but the roads were very good and the scenery along the route were super awesome.

On the way to Prince Rupert, we made an overnight stop at Smithers, a very pretty town.

Prince Rupert is a smallish town, on the west coast of Canada. We did a walk along the Rushbrook trail, which has some lovely views. The next day we boarded the catamaran for our trip to Khutzeymateen, via Prince Rupert Adventure tours (http://www.adventuretours.ca/).

The trip to Khutzeymateen was awesome, with plenty of sightings of grizzly bears, bald eagles, humpback whales bubble-net feeding.

The staff on the tour (Prince Rupert Adventure tours) were knowledgeable. They gave relevant information about the history of the place. They also informed us about the wildlife.

On the way back south, we stopped at Lillooet and Prince George before heading for Whistler.
