Neko Harbour & sailing back to Ushuaia

Day 8 was another hectic day. We started by landing on the mainland and climbing a mountain. The views of the ice-covered mountains were magnificent.

Post lunch, we had a great experience kayaking in Neko harbor.

And the last event for the day was ….. the polar plunge. Initially I was not planning to do it, but seeing so many people do it, I took the “plunge”.

We ended our stay in the Antarctic peninsula with a bang. Now the time had come for our journey back to civilization.

Day 9 & 10 – on the return back through Drake’s passage, we saw a lot of wildlife. The sailing was slightly rougher than the onward trip, but not too bad. I didn’t get seasick, fortunately!

The entire expedition was awesome. The memories of the activities and wildlife sightings will always stay etched in our memories.
